This 360° panorama of the landing site was stitched together from 225 frames taken while the rover was still attached to its landing stage.

Opportunity bounced and rolled to a stop inside a 20m diameter crater. Airbag bounce marks can be seen stamped in the dark, granular soil. Lighter layers of a bedrock outcrop can be seen in the crater wall.

In several places, the crater wall is low enough for the surrounding plain to be glimpsed.
