The CoolPix 775 uses a 7.2 volt, rechargable Lithium Ion battery (EN-EL1) A fully charged battery has enough power to take over 100 images.

When the battery's power level drops, the Recharge Required Indicator appears on the monitor. There may be enough power to take more images, after the indicator appears, but the battery should be replaced or recharged at the first possible opportunity.

If the message WARNING!! BATTERY EXHAUSTED appears on the monitor, turn the power off. Do not attempt to take more images. Discharging the battery further will damage it.

Note: Recharging takes about 6 hours via the Nikon MH-50 charger supplied with the camera.
