Craig spoke about Lunar Eclipses at the BDAS Astonomy and Science Presentation on
Wednesday 1st August 2007. This is the powerpoint presentation he prepared for the occasion.
It contains some beautiful images and some fascinating facts.
- Chris Wyatt, August 2007 Lunar Eclipse from the Moon
Chris has used Starry Night Pro to simulate what the August 2007 Lunar Eclipse would
look like from the Moon. The Sun will pass behind the Earth and remain obscured for
around 90 minutes. A reddish halo of light refracted by Earth's atmosphere will
circumscribe the globe. Chris notes that crew members of
Apollo
XII returning from the Moon in 1969
are the only people, so far, to have seen an eclipse of the Sun by the Earth,
from out near the Moon.
