Locating Proxima Centauri

Proxima Centauri is the nearest star to the Sun. It is a magnitude 10.9 Red Dwarf. It is far too faint to be seen with the unaided eye.

The approximate field of view is 25°.

This time exposure image shows many more stars than the eye can see. But, at this resolution, Proxima Centauri is not discernable.
