Our Place in The Universe

In a Froth of Galaxies
On the Outskirts of a Supercluster
In the Local Group
Embedded in the Milky Way's Disk
On the Inner Edge of the Local Arm
On the third Planet out from the Sun

The Milky Way belongs to a small cluster of more than 30 galaxies called the Local Group . Similar sized clusters are scattered near by.

The Local Group and neighbouring clusters are outlying members of the Virgo Supercluster.
