Lake Acraman in the Gawler Range on the Eyre Peninsular, South Australia, is the eroded remnant of a multiple ring impact structure. The complex consists of a 30 km wide inner ring surrounded by a series of concentric, outer rings stretching across 160 km. It was formed 600 million years ago. It was discovered after rocks from the Gawler Range were found embedded in Flinders Ranges sedimentary formations.
