The complex consists of a 30 km wide inner ring surrounded by a series of concentric, outer rings stretching across 160 km. It was formed 600 million years ago. It was discovered after rocks from the Gawler Range were found embedded in Flinders Ranges sedimentary formations. Mosaic of Landsat Images |
