This microscopic image about 3 centimeters (1.2 inches) square shows a sand-covered rock with knobby protrusions, described by geologist Steve Squyres as having 'a shape as if somebody took a potato and stuck toothpicks in it, then put jelly beans on the ends of the toothpicks.'
