NGC 6522 in Baade's Window, Sagittarius

Source: Anglo-Australian Observatory Gallery, star clusters

NGC 6522 is a globular cluster in constellation Sagittarius, (a few degrees from the tip of the teapot's spout.) It lies in Baade's Window, a gap in the obscuring clouds that shroud much of the Milky Way's central bulge. It is 25,000 light years from us and 2,000 light years from the centre of the Milky Way.
