The Hubble Deep Field South contains 2,500 galaxies in a tiny, sand grain sized patch of sky.

These pages provide a set of charts and photographs for locating the Hubble Deep Field South. All images are oriented as seen from southern Australia in July. Note: from southern Australia, Tucana never sets - HDF south's position is locatable throughout the year.

The vastness of the sky becomes apparent to any who attempt to precisely locate the position of faint objects in the night sky.
