6 - Atmospheric Absorption

Radiation of all wavelengths arrives at Earth from the rest of the universe. Only some reaches the Earth's surface. The rest is absorbed by the atmosphere.

To observe at the ather wavelengths, instruments are placed in:

  • Satellites
  • Rockets
  • Balloons
  • Aircraft
  • Mountain Top Observatories
