Astrophotography
1 minute Astrophotography requires time exposures and precise tracking of the stars. Holding the shutter open and tracking the camera so that a field of view remains precisely aligned allows film to soak up photons and record imaages of stars and nebulae. On short exposures, only the brighter stars show up. Base image by Greg Bock, Courtesy Southern Astronomical Society. Obtained from Astronomy Picture of the Day: ap960503 |
