In the lower front edge of this image, the rover's solar arrays and antennas face the sky, as viewed from above by the rover's panoramic cameras. The two side panels are still folded back toward the top of the image, sort of like a bird's wings lying on top of the rover's body. Beyond, in the middle of the image, is the hexagonal landing pad, cushioned atop portions of billowing airbag fabric that stick out from beneath the edges. Surrounding all is a pebble-covered, sandy surface.
Yin/Yang
Stationary white squares criss-cross on the lander and give way to darker solar panels that set the rover into action.
