On the right side of this image, thin vertical lines and grooves cover the flat surface of a rock. On the left side, the surface of the same rock is smooth. A short, abrupt edge about an inch or so deep separates the two faces of the rock. The entire rock is dotted with tiny, submillimeter-size holes.

Terrain undulates while a stacked rock casts a deep shadow.
