Two parallel tracks extend from the left foreground of this image straight up toward the middle of the image, crossing a gently sloping, sandy surface before turning to the right. At the bottom of the image are the edges of three solar panels as well as an upright metal cylinder and the top of a disk-shaped object that are part of the rover's antennas. At the top of the image, a mostly flat, sandy surface dotted here and there with light-colored rocks, ends at a flat horizon.


Right Angles?
Many think of the rovers as robot geologists, but here Opportunity plays at being a roving "geometrist."
