Eros's Year, Day, Axis and Equator

Earth takes 12 months to orbit the Sun. Eros takes 20 months.

Earth rotates once in 24 hours. Eros rotates once in 5 hours 20 minutes.

Eros's rotational axis passes through the asteroid's 'waist'. The equator wraps lengthwise around the asteroid.

Like a gyroscope, the axis maintains the same direction as the asteroid moves round the Sun.
